Therapeutic Ultrasound is a physiotherapy treatment that uses high-frequency sound waves to produce both thermal and non-thermal effects in mainly soft tissue structures to improve healing and remodeling of injuries.
It is particularly useful in improving wound healing, remodeling scar tissue, reducing edema and soft tissue filling in limbs, improving flexibility of movement after injury and fibrosis, and treating muscle injuries. It also works well on scar tissue
I am fully certified and insured to use Therapeutic Ultrasound, I can therefore offer this as part of my massage services.
Therapeutic Ultrasound is when soundwaves are used which in turn are absorbed by tissues within the body. This absorbtion causes thermal (heating) & mechanical effects. The vibration caused created by the therapeutic ultrasound causes gentle movement of fluids. This gentle movement stimulates the healing process by optimising cell function & increasing the blood flow to the area being treated.
Therapeutic Ultrsound can also be used to treat dogs.
IVDD (Intervertebral Disc Disease) is a condition that is very common in French Bulldogs due to their chondrodystrophic spine.
