1. All treatments are carried out in accordance with the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966 which states that veterinary consent must be obtained before treating/working on an animal which is under vet supervision. If your horse is healthy and not under vet supervision for any illness or injury then vet consent is not required and we can proceed with the treatment.
2. I am unable to diagnose any problems your horse/pony may have. If your horse/pony does not improve, your Veterinary Surgeon should be consulted. Equine Massage Therapy is not a replacement for veterinary care but is to be used alongside conventional health care.
3. Owners are required to notify me if, during a course of treatments, the animal’s injury or condition worsens, or if the veterinary surgeon advises that treatment is to be stopped or suspended.
4. If your horse/pony has sustained an injury or developed an illness between booking the appointment and my attendance for treatment, I may be unable to treat.
5. Should there be an outbreak of a contagious or infectious disease on the yard where your horse/pony is kept (for e.g. equine influenza, equine herpes, strangles or ringworm), please inform me no later than 48 hours prior to the date and time of the scheduled appointment or, as soon as possible thereafter.
6. Appointment cancellations require at least 48 hours notice, this is to allow a practical amount of time to potentially rebook the appointment. I understand that on ocassion this might not be practical and I will do my best to reschedule. I reserve the right to charge the full amount for the booking should failure to give the specified cancellation notice.
7. Whilst every care is taken of the animal undergoing treatment, it is done entirely at the owner’s risk.
8. Please have your horse clean and dry before treatments and provide a safe environment to perform the massage. Treatment cannot be performed on a wet horse.
9. Payment is required by way of cash, bank transfer or debit/credit card at the time of the appointment.
